Weir comes out swinging
The controversy involving the sacking of chief executive officer (CEO) of the Barbados Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (BADMC), Dr Brian Francis, reached the House of Assembly yesterday.
It was brought up by Minister of Agriculture Indar Weir towards the end of his presentation as debate continued on the 2021-2022 Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure.
In the last SUNDAY SUN, Weir had broken his silence after Francis vowed to not only take his March 12 firing to court but also expose the “buried skeletons” of the BADMC to Barbadians.
Francis charged he was given his walking papers amidst allegations of misconduct against him – which he said were later withdrawn – a week after being sent on suspension in correspondence signed by BADMC chairman Dereck Foster. (GC)
