Two more elderly persons die of COVID
The Ministry of Health today said that two more persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have died. This takes the total number of deaths from the pandemic to 218.
The latest fatalities are a 74-year-old female from Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara) who died while receiving care at the ministry’s medical facility, and an 82-year-old male from Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) who died at his home. A swab test was done on arrival at the ministry’s medical facility, which revealed a positive result for COVD-19.
