First phase of COVID Vaccination Campaign completed
The first phase of the National Vaccination Programme for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) ended today.
Over 62 000 Barbadians and permanent residents received the first shot of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines since the roll out began on February 11.
The last week of the first phase saw over 3 000 teachers being vaccinated. The next set of first doses will start when more vaccines arrive in a couple of weeks.
People who registered during the first phase, but did not receive an appointment, will be the first to be scheduled for vaccinations when the next shipment arrives.
The second phase of the National Vaccination Programme, the administration of the second dose, begins on Saturday, April 17. (BGIS)
