Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, has proposed recently the establishment of a Ghana student exchange program with that island.
According to recent reports from the SGV Agency of Public Information, the undertaking would allow students from both countries to study degree programmes in the other. It is presumed that the University of the West Indies (UWI) would accommodate the Ghanan students.
The SVG Prime Minister made the suggestion during a courtesy call on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of Ghana. The call comes as part of a five-day official visit to Ghana, which ended on November 30, 2018.
He cited geography and history of the two nations and the various development of both as the basis for further and strategic development of both territory’s economic, trading, cultural and political ties and cooperation between SVG and Ghana.
The Vincentian leader also mulled the possibility of an African-Brazil-Caribbean relationship that will seek to build the people of the countries involved.
