new dance group has emerged out of Trinidad and Tobago and they’re ready to share a new project with the masses- something called The Way Up Project. The group, ‘The XOriginals’, consist of four choreographers- Luna, Tevin, Kacy & Xander who refer to themselves as dance artists. Behind the scenes, they’ve been working arduously to bring their style and energy to the forefront of popular culture here in the Caribbean.
In 2018, The XOriginals delivered their Video Mixtape, something called IslandHop and this has since been followed up by the Way Up project.
What’s the Way Up Project?
The WAY UP project is a Soca Dance Music track that’s being released by The XOriginals for Carnival 2019 and certainly, beyond. The track is produced by UK/TT based super producers ‘JUS NOW’– the production outfit that worked with Bunji Garlin on the hit singles, “Big Bad Soca” and Truck on De Road”.
WAY UP has been described by The XOriginals as a creative production that embodies the past, present and future of Soca Music. The official video which is directed by Romano Francis of Resolve Productions has been released.
The XOriginals premiered their live performance set at Socialize on January 6th. That event was hosted by Bad John Republic who has also had an integral part to play in their journey, along with solo dance artiste Rico Boss and Mad Hed City as their official MC. The XOriginals are well on their way to making inroads in the industry.
